Tank Bigsby rushed the Jacksonville Jaguars to a victorious "must-win" game over the New England Patriots in the final London game of the 2024 NFL season.
Week 7 marked both the second week in London for the Jaguars, and Drake Maye's second start as the Patriots' quarterback. Although the rookie quarterback and third overall pick started his career 0-2, Maybe has brought life back to New England.
The Patriots recieved the ball first as Maye opened his London debut with back-to-back scoring drives; throwing a 13-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and setting up kicker Joey Slye for a successful field goal early in the second. New England took the 10-0 lead early, but did not score again until the fourth quarter ... and by then, it was already too late.
After Jacksonville allowed their opponent to score on the opening drive for the fifth time this season, Trevor Lawrence and the offense had an answer for once.
Lawrence distributed the ball to five different playmakers before ending the efficient drive with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Brian Thomas Jr., earning the rookie receiver his fourth career touchdown and making BTJ the team leader in receiving touchdowns on the season thus far.
After Jacksonville's defense forced a New England three-and-out, Lawrence highlighted Thomas Jr. again with a 58-yard completion.
BTJ's huge catch set Tank Bigsby up for three consecutive runs, the final resulting in a 1-yard touchdown. Bigsby would score again late in the fourth quarter, making him the team leader in rushing touchdowns with four on the season.
Following Bigsby's first touchdown of the game, Jacksonville held Maye and New England to another three-and-out, leading to the game-changing play that put the Jaguars on their path to a swift victory.
When the Patriots punt on fourth down, Parker Washington was set to receive. Opting to run rather than call a fair catch, Washington cut, danced, and found himself looking back at the defenders he ran past as the Jaguars' punt returner fell into New England's endzone for a 96-yard touchdown.
Jacksonville entered halftime with a 22-10 lead after a successful 2-point conversion following Washington's tide-turning special teams touchdown.
New England only managed one touchdown in the second half, while Jacksonville also scored one touchdown and an additional field goal. Jacksonville defeats New England, 32-16.
Earning only their second win of the season, the Jacksonville Jaguars return home to Everbank Stadium with a record of 2-5 to face the 5-2 Green Bay Packers in week 8. The Jaguars are hopeful their momentum from London will fly back over the pond with them to try and keep their season alive.
It was always the Jags. DUUUVAL!
The Jacksonville Jaguars did it again. They opened the game strong by forcing back-to-back three-and-outs, scored on their first possession, and gave all Jaguars fans hope; just to lose in a 35-16 blowout against the Bears in London.
Our very own 2021 No. 1 draft pick, Trevor Lawrence (QB), faced off against this year's No. 1 selection, Caleb Williams (QB), in what was meant to be an exciting game across the pond. Instead, Caleb Williams led his young Chicago Bears squad to an embarrassing victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars while showcasing every reason why he deserves the hype.
The Jaguars looked determined to remain undefeated in London and earn their second win of the 2024 season, but that determination was short-lived and ended with the first quarter.
After a successful field goal by Cam Little (K) in the Jaguar's first possession of the game, Jacksonville did not score again until late in the third quarter. By that point, Caleb Williams had thrown three touchdown passes for the Chicago Bears and celebrated their guaranteed victory with a tea party in the endzone.
To summarize this blowout, it remained a one possession game through a majority of the first half, then the Bears took the reins and ran off. Jacksonville looked physically and mentally defeated, and Chicago continues to be on the up-and-up.
The Jaguars now sit at 1-5 and remain in London for week 7 to faced another rookie quarterback, Drake Maye, as the New England Patriots also enter the matchup at 1-5.
Players to watch for on the Jaguars are Tank Bigsby (RB) and Josh Hines-Allen (DE). Bigsby continues to trend positively, and with Travis Etienne Jr. struggling to bounce back from injury, expect the second-year running back to receive multiple touches. For Hines-Allen, he and the defensive front have an opportunity to get back on track against a weak offensive line and rookie quarterback under center.
It was always the Jags. DUUUVAL!
Birthday confetti flew in Everbank Stadium for Trevor Lawrence as he led the Jacksonville Jaguars to their first victory of the 2024 season over the Indianapolis Colts in a potential tide-turning AFC South divisional match.
After a disappointing 0-4 start, the Jaguars shut out all the noise and gave their franchise quarterback the greatest birthday gift: a big win during his best performance of the season.
Leading offensive players for the Jaguars included Trevor Lawrence (QB), Brian Thomas Jr./BTJ (WR), Tank Bigsby (RB), and Cam Little (K).
Lawrence completed 28-34 for 371 yards with two total touchdowns to Thomas Jr. (WR) and Brenton Strange (TE). In addition to BTJ's touchdown, which was an early birthday gift, the rookie receiver caught five receptions for 122 yards. Bigsby had back-to-back big games and earned himself the Good Morning Football Angry Run Scepter with 13 carries for 101 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
And of course, Cam Little was perfect on the day going 4/4 on extra point conversions and 3/3 on field goals, including the 49-yard kick that sealed the deal for a Jaguars victory.
On the defensive front, big playmakers included the sixth captain and defensive end Travon Walker, safeties Andre Cisco and Antonio Johnson, and linebacker Ventrell Miller.
Walker had four solo tackles and three quarterback sacks. Cisco and Johnson combined for 18 tackles, and Miller also stepped up with six solo tackles of his own.
The Jaguars now look to their home-away-from-home in London, in hopes of continuing the win streak across the pond where they face two rookie quarterbacks in Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears, and Drake Maye with the New England Patriots.
It was always the Jags. DUUUVAL!
The Jacksonville Jaguars ventured West to the Lone Star State for their first divisional rivalry of the season against the Houston Texans and lost in heartbreaking fashion, as CJ Stroud led his high-powered Texans offense 78 yards down the field for a last-minute, game-winning touchdown drive.
Though the Jaguars lost their fourth consecutive game to open this highly anticipated 2024 season, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Jacksonville's defensive front continues to look strong and has kept three of four games within one possession, and the offense finally sparked excitement through multiple playmakers.
Those offensive playmakers include wide receives Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas Jr. who each caught one touchdown pass, and running backs Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby who rushed for 140 yards combined against the Texans.
As a whole, Jacksonville's offense tallied 158 rushing and 155 passing yards. The Jaguars outran the Texans by 50+ yards, but Houston's 334 passing yards alone exceeded Jacksonville's total offensive gain. Additionally, nearly half of the Texans' passing yards came from Nico Collins, who played outstanding with 12 receptions for 151 yards.
The Jaguars put the first points on the board just over two minutes into the game after the Texans muffed a punt at their own 2-yard line. Trevor Lawrence then converted the 2-yard touchdown pass to Brian Thomas Jr. for the rookie receiver's second career touchdown.
Houston, however, had an immediate answer the following drive with three first-down conversions and a 6-yard walk-in touchdown by Stefon Diggs.
Following back-to-back touchdown drives, Jacksonville nickel-and-dimed their way down the field to set Cam Little up for a successful field goal attempt. On this drive, six Jaguars playmakers moved the ball forward, and Travis Etienne Jr. was not one of them.
Etienne Jr. did not see the field until the second quarter due to a shoulder injury, which appeared as a shock to the broadcast, fans, and fantasy managers alike, since the star running back was not listed on injury reports leading up to the game.
With Etienne Jr. limited in play, second year running back Tank Bigsby stepped up for the Jaguars offense with seven rushes for 90 yards. Though Bigsby piled up more yards because of a huge breakout play in the third quarter, Etienne Jr. remained the steady go-to running back with four additional carries and two additional first-down conversions.
Regardless of the Jaguars rushing success, Lawrence and the offense were unable to reach the endzone again in the first half, but walked away with a second made field goal.
The Texans, however, did find the endzone early in the second quarter as Nico Collins caught a 3-yard touchdown pass. Ka'imi Fairbairn also added points for the Texans with a successful field goal to earn them the halftime lead, 17-13.
When the Jaguars took the field in the second half, they were the ones who owned the third quarter with their defense shutting down the Texans.
After forcing Houston's second consecutive three-and-out to start the half, Jacksonville efficiently drove the ball down the field led by a pair of Etienne Jr. runs and Thomas Jr. receptions. Lawrence took advantage of the momentum and found Kirk for his first touchdown of the season on an 8-yard completion.
20-17, Jaguars regain the lead.
Four Texans plays later and another forced punt by the Jaguars, Lawrence handed off the ball to Bigsby, who rushed for an explosive 58-yards and set the offense up for first-and-goal at the 4-yard line.
Could it be? Were the Jaguars going to score back-to-back touchdowns and enter the final quarter of this divisional rivalry with a two-possession lead?
The answer neared as Lawrence and the offense quickly found themselves in a fourth-and-goal situation hovering just outside the 1-yard line.
Earlier in the game, Lawrence wanted to try a fourth-and-short conversion but was overruled by Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson. This time, however, there was no pushback.
So Lawrence went for it.
The Jaguars franchise quarterback kept the ball in his hands and rushed toward the endzone, but was taken down before crossing the plane.
Jacksonville was unable to execute yet again. Turnover on downs, Texans ball at their own 1 1/5 yard line.
This missed execution marked the turning point and downhill descent for Jacksonville, as they proceeded to progress the ball a total of 15 yards offensively in the fourth quarter.
After a series of punts and 12 Houston penalties for 93 yards, neither team threatened to score until the final minutes of the game.
On one final Texans drive, CJ Stroud commanded his offense, marching nearly the entire length of the football field, and threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Dare Ogunbowale with 18 seconds left on the clock.
The Jaguars managed nothing as the clock ticked down to zero, losing 24-20 to go 0-4.
With a quarter of the season in the books and divisional games underway, playoff pictures have began taking form in the earliest stages. Jacksonville now sits at 0-4 and ranks last in the AFC South, while Houston leads the Division with two victories over the Jaguars and Colts.
As the last team standing without a win, the Jaguars return home in week 5 for another AFC South Division match against the Indianapolis Colts. Both Jacksonville and Indianapolis have lost to the Houston Texans and now look to compete for second, as the Titans have yet to play in-division.
Jaguars players to watch for in week 5 are Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas Jr. after combining for a majority of the wide reciever shares with 13/18 receptions; and Evan Engram if he returns from injury, as the star tight end provides a steady veteran presence for Trevor Lawrence and the offense.

After a devastating 0-2 start, the Jacksonville Jaguars traveled north to Buffalo Bills territory and were utterly destroyed in an embarrassing 47-10 loss as the Bills continue their undefeated season and the Jags remain on the hunt for their first victory.
The AFC East Division favorite was in control of the entire game and squashed all the hearts of Jaguars' fans after outscoring them 34-3 in the first half.
Bills quarterback and early leader in the MVP race, Josh Allen, threw for four touchdowns to four different targets. Tight end Dalton Kincaid, and receivers Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Ty Johnson were Allen's targets, and all scored in the first half.
Jacksonville's only touchdown of the day came early in the third quarter on a pass from Trevor Lawrence to Brenton Strange. This was Strange's second start of the early season, after tight end Evan Engram suffered a hamstring injury in week 2 warmups.
This Monday Night Football matchup was unfortunately a one-sided game. There truly is nothing more to say, other than the Buffalo Bills look great, and the Jacksonville Jaguars do not.
The Jaguars have another road game next week in an AFC South Division match against the Houston Texans. Both the Jaguars and Texans are coming off 25+ point losses in week 3 and look to either 1) get back on a win streak, or 2) finally capture the first win of the season. Jacksonville seeks the latter.
Trevor Lawrence and the offense need to find a spark in order for the Jaguars to have a chance at winning the game and prevent the unbearable 0-4. Players to watch for in this matchup are wide receivers Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas Jr., as the two have potential to ham and egg as strong offensive weapons.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their home opener at TrEverbank Stadium to the Cleveland Browns with a final score of 18-13, losing their second consecutive game to go 0-2 and potentially spiral both the team and its fans into the hopeless pit of "typical Jags."
Prior to kickoff on a gloomy, autumn Sunday in Duval, one of Trevor Lawrence's favorite targets, tight end Evan Engram, suffered a hamstring injury during warmups and was ruled out. This loss was just the start of Jacksonville's rainy day, as there was no parade to be had within sight.
The Cleveland Browns owned the first half of the game, limiting Jacksonville's time of possession to less than ten minutes. With under five minutes to play in the first half, however, the Jaguars showed life when Lawrence ran the ball down field and into the redzone. The drive resulted in a successful field goal and Jacksonville's first points of the game.
Both the Browns and Jaguars had quiet third quarters, leaning heavily on the defensive fronts and suffering from penalties that kept points off the board. That was, until... ROOKIE BRIAN THOMAS JR.!
BTJ had a monster catch to close the third quarter. His 66-yard connection with Lawrence set up Travis Etienne Jr. for a 4-yard rushing touchdown, giving the Jaguars hope as they trailed 16-10 heading into the final stretch.
Halfway through the fourth quarter, Jacksonville's defense managed another stop, paving the way for Lawrence and the offense to march down the field and score a field goal. They were able to see, feel, and touch the light at the end of the tunnel, trailing 16-13 with momentum now on the home team's side.
After multiple Browns offensive penalties, Cleveland punted the ball to Jacksonville's own 2-yard mark. With 98-yards to the endzone and the game on the line, it was time for the Jaguars to put their 2-minute drill into practice.
The sky was clearing, the birds started chirping, and the Jaguars had a chance to come back and win their home opener... That was, until, Lawrence felt the pocket collapse, took a sack in the endzone, and a Browns safety meant a Jaguars field goal to force overtime was no longer an option.
Score: 18-13
Vibes: Down
Hope: Lost
But was hope truly lost? Jacksonville quickly started their prowl down the field, giving the hometown team and its fans hope one final time.
With eight seconds remaining and enough time for a single snap, the Jaguars found themselves in position to score a game-winning touchdown.
Lawrence looked to the endzone, loaded his arm back, slung it forward, and released a perfect spiral. It hit the hands of Engram's replacement, Brenton Strange.
But Strange was double-teamed and unable to pull it in. Jaguars lose at home, 18-13.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have one extra day to prepare for their week 3 matchup, as they head north to battle the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York for the third Monday Night Football game of the 2024 season. Buffalo looks to extend their winning stream to 3-0, while Jacksonville still seeks their first win.
Buffalo is heavily favored at home with their ability to aggressively run the ball, as James Cook and Josh Allen combine for four rushing touchdowns in the first two games of the season. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have allowed two rushing touchdowns, one per game.
In order for the Jaguars to walk away with their first victory, they need to control time of possession and keep the ball out of Allen's hands.
Players to watch for in this matchup are Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne Jr., as both players have yet to boom for the Jaguars offense and need to carry a heavier load to quickly run down the clock and lead Jacksonville to a victory. On the defensive side of the ball, expect Joshua Hines-Allen and Foyesade Oluokun to blitz and apply pressure to the Bills' strong run game.
It was always the Jags. DUUUVAL!
The Jacksonville Jaguars owned the first half of their season opener in Hard Rock Stadium against the 2023 #1 ranked offense Miami Dolphins, but ultimately fumbled the game to lose 20-17 and go 0-1 to kickoff a highly anticipated 2024 season.
Jagaurs stars Trevor Lawrence, Joshua Hines-Allen, and rookie Brian Thomas Jr. showed up big on the road in the battle of the beaches, but two plays in the third quarter spoiled their chances of upsetting the Cheetah and Dolphins.
Tyreek Hill, also known as the Cheetah, was detained for a traffic violation on his way to the game but was released shortly after. And released he was, as Hill shifted the entire momentum of the game after a 63-yard touchdown connection with Dolphins quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.
The one, electrified touchdown was Tagovailoa's only passing touchdown of the day. He threw for 338 yards, 130 of which were caught by Hill, earning the Cheetah week 1 honors of most valuable offensive player of the game.
Some may argue that if it were not for the lost fumble by Etienne Jr. in the Jaguars endzone, Hill's explosive play would not have occurred and it would have been a quiet game for the NFL's 2024 #1 ranked player.
However, football is not a game of hypotheticals.
The fact of the matter is, Etienne Jr. nearly marched the Jaguars to a road win, but had the ball stripped away, setting the Dolphins up for the ultimate game-winning drive.
The Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Cleveland Browns next Sunday, 9/15 at 1pm EST at home in Jacksonville, Florida. Both teams are seeking their first win of the 2024 season after starting 0-1.
Jaguars names to look out for as they enter week 2 of the 2024 season are Brian Thomas Jr. after a toe-tap touchdown in his NFL debut, Christian Kirk who is sure to bounce back after a quiet opening week, and Tank Bigsby who had equal shares in the running back position.
